US Congress visits Buccoo Reef

On February 26th, Directors of the Trust hosted some members of the US House of Representatives on a guided tour of the Buccoo Reef. The tour included a view of the Bon Accord Lagoon and its bordering mangrove forest, snorkelling at Coral Gardens and swimming in the Nylon Pool. Delegates also had the opportunity to view two video productions by the Buccoo Reef Trust – Buccoo Reef: To Rescue and Restore and Tobago Naturally.

The delegates visited Tobago as part of an official 10-day tour of Latin America and the Caribbean Region. They have been focusing on resource-based issues, such as biodiversity and wildlife conservation, park lands, timber and forestry management, oil and energy matters, and sustainable development.
